I’ll start with a new trend by the sick and greedy pharmaceutical companies: On my blog, instead of asking a question or making a comment on my work, I get promotional emails for products such as Keflex…”Keflex dries skin. Why Kkeflex smells like sulfur. Keflex derived from sulfur….” This is pathetic… what’s next, SPAM in your sleep?
On to good things, many many new challenges and projects to deal with. Due to the need to keep things quiet till all ready from my client I’ll only display the concepts as images and will go into details later on when time is right.

And yes Savalas Creative has a new child, CreativeModus. Time to go on and see our times with a fresh eye and approach. The site is under development and therefore no links for it yet. The effort here is to present our work with less talk-text, just images-work samples. Modus stands for LATIN, “way of operating”, one that is well established.

New logos and photography,

Most often when a new client like NAPPA ELECTRIC requires marketing material it also means making a new friend.
Thank you Ed and Angela.

Creating a very handsome brochure for them, photographing on locations and then creating their website with the help of Anna Tsalopoulos for all the flash work and Phil Gloudeman was a very pleasant experience one more time. Both projects were completed in August of 2007. To see the site please visit: www.nappaelectric.com

You empty the crabs from your pocket?

Bloged in What if? by admin Friday April 11, 2008

What if… business owners had a better understanding of marketing?
Deep “subject”, I know, and if you don’t know how to swim in the deep end don’t go there.
Yet I’ll make a simple comment: it’s sad to come across successful people who have done well and their company does well, have nice homes, nice cars and money in the bank but when it comes time to keep up with the market and the new ways to approach the market… crabs get into their pockets and they stop.
The sad thing is (as my experience of 30 years in the field tells me time after time) when they miss the boat is too late to invest and fix what’s broken.
Message: prevent failure by always looking ahead.

Boston Braves (www.Bostonbraves.net) Where to start… for 7 years now a simple concept of engaging former players of Football-Soccer so that they come out of obscurity has turned into a phenomenon.

It started in 2001 where a bunch of amateurs addicted to soccer from the state of MA formed a team named it BOSTON BRAVES (my copy writer at the time had come up with the name Boston Ball Breakers) which didn’t fly.
The team traveled right after 911 to Greece to play with some of the best teams that country has to offer. The concept and it’s principals have resulted in trips and games in places-countries that only dreams can produce.

Russia, Spain, Holland, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, England (twice) Cyprus, Greece, Monte Carlo, Brussels, Halifax and with teams as:
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Santos, Bayern, Hamburg, National team of Israel to name a few of the over 30 teams we did play with so far.

Many new friends, many many memories to see and talk about. Anyone who loves the sport and is able to follow it knows what it means to be able to play the game and watch some of the stars play in their stadium or have a photo taken with them.

Just returned from our last trip to UK where Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea hosted our 20 man team. We were able to watch one of the games of Liverpool against Reading 2-1 where Steven Gerrard and company had a relatively easy win.

Next stop was London staying at Chelea’s own hotel next to their Stadium.
The exposure to the life of these stars (first team) and how well are treated is a phenomenon by it’s self. Their training facilities where we did have our game with them is a technological wonder and the best in UK where the players are taken care as the best Arabian horses, you can’t find an ounce of fat in any of these guys.

Our team of Boston Braves is formed by many nationalities, some of them are English so they had the best of times taking photos with their young team stars and playing against the “Old Boys” as they are called. See a list of the Chelsea team we played with:
Dave Beasant – Goal Keeper
Scott Minto – Left Back
Keith Dublin – Sweeper
David Lee – Central Defender
Graham Wilkins – Right Back
Ray Wilkins (Midfield)
Gary Chivers (Midfield)
Gary Stanley (Midfield)
Steve Finnieston (Defender /Forward)
Tommy Langley (Forward)
Clive Walker (Forward)
Mark Westwood (Midfield)
Gareth Hall (Midfield)

Next dream: ITALY.

Acropolis Rally

Bloged in Auto Racing by admin Thursday July 26, 2007

For 4 years with sponsors and many many hours of preparation racing in a rally makes track racing look not as appealing. In this photo we just got a flat and me and co-driver did change the rear left tire in 20 seconds. At the time it seemed record time. That day-course we finished 12 out of 35 cars.
